Vasu is an Indian Cinematographer who made his debut with Film Anaganaga oka roju in 1995. It was the first time in Telugu film industry where a still photographer was directly given a chance as cinematographer by ram Gopal Varma which was also supported by Rasoole Ellore, Where his work was very well appreciated in that film and within no time for his second film He received critical acclaim for his camera work in the movie ‘MAINA’ and was awarded Nandi award in 1996.

Later he continued to make films as cinematographer in many different languages,He worked for 60+ films in Telugu, Kannada, Marati and Bhojpuri and continued to achieve appreciations for his work . His journey from still photographer of rangeela to a cinematographer of many great films set an example at those times.

He graduated from the,was born into a family from village,and had showcased photographic interest from his earlier ages. His father B Venkata Rao who was also a still photographer has paved inspiration to start his film journey.

In 2008 he was elected as general secretary for 3 consecutive periods and he still continues to serve as a general secretary of TCA from past 15 years
